The technology behind the Air Oasis AO3000X is Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) that has become extremely popular in recent years because of its effectiveness and low cost of operation.  Air is brought into the internal chamber of the AO3000X where it is exposed to high intensity broad spectrum 254 nm ultraviolet light that initiates the PCO process resulting in unit’s ability to:

• Destroy Viruses, bacteria, and mold
• Break down and reduce contaminates including dust, mold, allergens, and VOCs
• Neutralize odors from pets, chemicals, food, smoke, and more

Unlike other PCO air purifiers, the AO3000X Xtreme goes a step further by incorporating both a high-power UV light and a Nickel HCT catalyst, which is what really sets this unit apart from the competition.  This is in contrast to other UV air purifiers which are comprised of a simple UV bulb and fan.  Even other air purifiers that claim to use a catalyst in addition to ultraviolet light, typically use a cheap titanium dioxide catalyst, which is just a basic white paint pigment.
