The five filtration levels of the Neoair 68108 are:
1 Prescreening Filter: Captures large particles such as pollen, skin flakes, and dust. By pre-filtering larger particles, the prescreen filter extends the life of the activated carbon and HEPA filters.
2 HEPA Filter: The High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filter was developed by the Atomic Energy Commission to remove 99.97% of particles as small as .3 microns. The Department of Homeland Security recommends only HEPA technology.
3 Activate Carbon Filter: This third filtration level neutralizes and captures gases, chemicals, tobacco smoke, and gases. Activated carbon has been used for air purification for many years, and is often the only effective solution to some air problems.
4 Advanced OFS Filter: Testing at the CHN Center for Disease Control and Prevention Institute for Environmental Health and Related Product Safety have shown that the Organic Fiber Sterilization (O.F.S.) filter kills 97.8% of certain airborne bacteria. Rather than simply capturing bacteria, the OFS filter contains an organic solution that starts a chemical reaction, destroying certain bacteria. O.F.S. filter technology is especially useful for applications that require technology to fight the spread of infection and disease, such as laboratories and hospitals.
5 Optional Dust Precipitator: This feature can be turned on and off by remote control. The Dust Precipitator System knocks down dust from the air by producing plasma flocks. This technology is effective against certain harmful particles down to .01 microns in size.
