Features
Responsible use of forest products and impact on the environment is at the heart of the manufacture of our meditation products. These fine pieces of are created from from Mango wood and other sustainable materials. The wood used in our furniture comes from the same tree that provides the delicious and nutritious mango fruit that so many enjoy. After 20 years the tree stops bearing fruit and can then be harvested for timber. In addition to having multiple uses the Mango tree can also be plantation grown eliminating the clear cut practice that is damaging to the rain forests.
The other materials that make up the meditation furniture is fast growing seagrass and banana leaf weaves both highly abundant and sustainable materials of the region where they are manufactured. To seal the pieces we stipulate only clear waterbased finishes be used to eliminate harmful toxins polluting the environment and home. Finally our cushions use kapok stuffing a natural cotton like material from the Kapok tree and 100 % cotton covers.
Our Yoga products including the Whale Backbench also feature only water based finishes and our Harmony Roller uses 90% recycled plastic in its fleece cover. We believe that using these materials is better for the health of the individual and the planet.
